  • bios
  • system
  • baseboard
  • chassis
  • processor
  • memory
  • cache

    dmidecode –s x

where x can be any of these valid type keywords:

    • bios-vendor
    • bios-version
    • bios-release-date
    • system-manufacturer
    • system-product-name
    • system-version

      RegMon

      regmon

RegMon is a Registry monitoring utility that will show you which applications are accessing your Registry, which keys they are accessing, and the Registry data that they are reading and writing – all in real-time. This advanced utility takes you one step beyond what static Registry tools can do, to let you see and understand exactly how programs use the Registry. With static tools you might be able to see what Registry values and keys changed. With Regmon you’ll see how the values and keys changed.

Install RegMon by copying the files to your hard drive, and start it by running Regmon.exe. Menu items and tool bar buttons can be used to toggle on and off monitoring, disable event capturing, control the scrolling of the list view, and save the list view contents to an ASCII file.

When you see a Registry value or key in RegMon‘s output that you want to edit, simply double-click on the line that includes the reference and RegMon will take you directly to the specific value using Regedit.

SpeedFan : Small Spplication that shows Fan speed,Voltage and Chip temperature.

A small application that shows you fan speed, voltage and chip temperature.

SpeedFan is a freeware program that monitors voltages, fan speeds and temperatures in computers with hardware monitor chips. SpeedFan can even access S.M.A.R.T. info for those hard disks and show hard disk temperatures too, if supported.

SpeedFan can even change the FSB on some hardware. At the lowest level, SpeedFan is an hardware monitor software that can access temperature sensors, but its main feature is that it can change fan speeds (depending on the capabilities of the sensor chip and your hardware) according to the temperatures inside your pc, thus reducing noise. A must-have tool for users who continually stress their systems with games at higher resolutions.

SpeedFan works under Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000, 2003, XP and Vista. SpeedFan works fine on Vista 64 bit too.

The good news for Network Engineers and System Administrators is that SpeedFan supports  SNMP extension for RIM(Remote Infrastructure Management).
